DIVINE PROTECTION IN THE BLOOD COVENANT

Dr. Brian Miltenberger

When you plead the Blood of Jesus you defeat the devil and destroy all of his weapons.

Revelation 12:11

KJV    And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…

NIV   They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…

NLT   And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony…

ESV   And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…

Jesus gave us power to destroy all of the power of the enemy.

The devil cannot hurt or touch you when you use the power of the Blood of Jesus.

Luke 10:19

Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Jesus shows us that the enemy is out to destroy our lives but He came to give us life to the fullest.

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows) (1 JOHN 10:10 AMP).

Jesus gave us dominion over storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, car accidents, injuries, robberies, bullying, and anything else that would try to harm us.

It is important that you as a believer exercise your dominion DAILY over the enemy.

I never drive my car unless I first cover it with the Blood of Jesus.

My children go to School covered by the Blood of Jesus.

My wife is safe everywhere she goes because is covered by the Blood.

The more faith you have in the Blood of Jesus the more power the Blood will have to protect and deliver you.

Below is a confession for you to speak in faith over yourself and family:

CONFESSION OF PROTECTION

“I am an overcomer. I overcome the devil by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony. I plead the Blood of Jesus over me and my family (spouse name and the names of your children).

I plead the Blood over all my church family. I plead the Blood over my house, over my car, over my workplace, school, neighborhood, and city.

We dwell in the secret place of the Most High, We abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

And we say of the Lord, “He is our refuge and our fortress; He is our God, and in Him we will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver us from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover us with His feathers, And under His wings we shall take refuge; His truth shall be our shield and buckler.

We shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,  Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at our side, And ten thousand at our right hand; But it shall not come near us.  Only with our eyes we shall look, And see the reward of the wicked.

Because we have made the Lord, who is our refuge, Even the Most High, our dwelling place,

No evil shall befall us, Nor shall any plague come near our dwelling;

For He shall give His angels charge over us, To keep us in all our ways.  In their hands they shall bear us up, Lest we dash ou foot against a stone.

We shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent we shall trample underfoot.

Because we have set our love upon Him, therefore He will deliver us; He will set us on high, because we know His Name, JESUS.

We shall call upon Him, and He will answer us; He will be with us in trouble; He will deliver us and honor us.

And with long life He will satisfy us, And show me His salvation.”

Psalm 91

THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST JESUS

Dr. Brian Miltenberger

When you receive Christ Jesus as your LORD He takes care of the sin problem.  Jesus paid the price for sin so you don’t have to live under guilt and shame.

Romans 8:1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

I have worked with young people for over 15 years, and I have seen a negative pattern working in the lives of many youth. I believe it has negatively influenced many youth into rebellion.  It is guilt and shame.

If a youth believes that he or she is a bad person, they will act bad.

It’s not hard to make a young Christian feel dirty and full of guilt and condemnation.

Why do so many Christians suffer from fear and depression? I believe it has a lot to do with guilt and condemnation.

The enemy wants us to live by fear and not by faith. We are the justified but the devil wants us to see ourselves as sinners. We are not sinners who are saved.

We are the blameless, righteous, and pure by the Blood of the Lamb. In Christ, there is no guilty past.

In Christ, there is no ugly yesterday. In Christ, we are new creations. His Blood has washed our guilty past away completely.

If you believe that you have fallen out of fellowship with your Heavenly Father, I encourage you to feed on God’s Word. You cannot fall away from God when He is in you.  You must believe what His Word says and have your mind renewed.

The sense of failure leads to a belief of shame and guilt. Condemnation is blame, disapproval, criticism, and judgment.

Do you see Father God as disapproving, criticizing, blaming, and judging you? Don’t park in your failures.

Most of our Bible heroes are like you and I, subject to failures and mistakes and bad choices. Moses, Abraham, Noah, David, Peter, Paul, John the Baptist all missed it and were not perfect.

In Christ, we stand before Father God in Christ’s perfection. God does not see us based on who we are in ourselves but who we are in Christ.

Revelation 12:10–11    Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

We overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb. There is power in the blood of Christ. What makes Jesus’ blood so powerful?

Jesus said when He instituted the Lord’s Supper, “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” (Matthew 26:28)

The blood of Jesus is for the forgiveness of sins. The blood of Jesus ensures us that we live in no condemnation.  Notice in verse 10, “…for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.”

The devil is called the accuser of the brethren. Satan’s name means accuser.  He persistently accuses us day and night. The good news is that he has been defeated!

The moment you silence him by the Blood of Jesus, he has no power to accuse. You receive salvation, strength, and the power of the Blood will manifest in your life.

If you are going to live by faith then live free from the shame and guilt of your past.

Receive Jesus’ Blood sacrifice for you on the cross. You are forgiven and stand before a holy, holy, holy God as if you have never sinned.

THE DEVIL’S TRAP OF OFFENSE

Dr. Brian Miltenberger

Every day, we have an opportunity to get offended at someone. We need to make sure that we guard our hearts from offense.

Below are notes from Pastor Brian’s series, God is Love,   which will help you to develop in the Agape Love of God and guard yourself from the devil’s trap of offense.

Hebrews 12:14 NIV   Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. We must choose to be peacemakers and not trouble makers

  1. It is better to say, “I’m sorry” and swallow your pride even if you think the other person may be in the wrong.  Fight for PEACE.

  2. We have to learn how to not make a big issue out of small issues.  Learn to DROP IT!

  3. We can survive even when we really believe we are right, and the other party is in the wrong.

  4. Avoid keeping records of other people’s wrongs!  Do not gossip, PRAY!

  5. We need to swallow our pride and do whatever it takes to get along with others.

  6. We DO NOT have to get offended.  It’s a choice we make to choose PEACE and avoid STRIFE.

Proverbs  26:17, 20-22 17  He who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own Is like one who takes a dog by the ears. 20 Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases. 21 As charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire, So is a contentious man to kindle strife. 22 The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles, And they go down into the inmost body.

AMPLIFIED BIBLE   17 He who, passing by, stops to meddle with strife that is none of his business is like one who takes a dog by the ears. 20 For lack of wood the fire goes out, and where there is no whisperer, contention ceases. 21 As coals are to hot embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man to inflame strife. 22 The words of a whisperer or slanderer are like dainty morsels or words of sport [to some, but to others are like deadly wounds]; and they go down into the innermost parts of the body [or of the victim’s nature].

TRAPS OF BECOMING OFFENDED

  1. When someone hurts your feelings and you get offended, it’s the devil trying to trap you.

  2. If you stay offended it will affect your prayer life, and your fellowship with others.

  3.  You begin to gossip and become a talebearer feeling justified because of hurt feelings.

  4. You now begin to spread strife all over the body of Christ, spreading offense

  5. Now others are in strife and are upset at the person who hurt you, and it’s YOUR FAULT.

Example, you are in a line at the grocery store and someone cuts in line in front of you.  So you turn around and talk about them to the person behind you. “oh, I hope I don’t get in their way…I guess they’re in a hurry … ha ha”

Rather than choosing to get offended, choose to sow mercy and forgiveness.

THE STEPS OF BECOMING A PEACEMAKER

  1. When someone hurts you and you feel hurt, you refuse to take the bait of offense

  2. You pray for the person rather than talk to others about the person who hurt you

  3. You speak to others GOOD about this person, focusing on the positive, not negative

  4. You spread mercy for this person all over the Body of Christ

  5. Now others will not be upset at this person and will show them mercy because you chose to forgive.

Galatians 5:13, 24      13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

  1. Have the attitude; I am free to serve others in love!  How exciting life is when you live the freedom of  unselfishness and not serving under the bondage of selfishness.

  2. This does not mean we become a doormat.  The Holy Spirit will tell you when to confront someone and other times to leave it alone. (don’t be moved by anger nor fear)

24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Why is a graveyard quiet?

Everyone is Dead!    Silence your flesh by not feeding it.

  1. The devil knows what upsets you better than you do.  The only way to crucify your flesh is to stop feeding it.

  2. The next time you feel your flesh rise up you choose PEACE and receive God’s GRACE.  The more you do this the easier it will get to crucify your flesh.

  3. The next time the devil tries to push your button and it doesn’t respond, you know you have died in that area.

  4. Ask God for His help and grace to help you die in that area of your flesh

  5. God will empower you by His grace to overcome and walk in His Love and not in the flesh.
